Ilham Aliyev received the President of United World Wrestling

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received President of United World Wrestling Nenad Lalovic on July 29.

“Elchi” reports that during the conversation, the previous meeting between the head of state and Nenad Lalovic was recalled with pleasure.

Expressing his honor to meet with the President of Azerbaijan, the guest emphasized that the World Championship among wrestlers under 17 held in Baku was organized at a high level, and expressed his gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev for this and for his support to the activities of United World Wrestling in general.

Highlighting the development of wrestling in our country, Nenad Lalovic recalled that various international-level wrestling competitions are held in Azerbaijan and stated that they have successful cooperation with the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation.

President Ilham Aliyev touched upon the importance of the World Championship among wrestlers under 17 held in Baku in terms of the future success of young athletes and noted the importance of organizing such sports events in our country in the future as well.

The head of state emphasized that Azerbaijani wrestlers have achieved very important victories so far.

At the meeting, it was noted that wrestling has rich traditions in our country, and the work done at the state level for its development was touched upon.

An exchange of views took place on issues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and United World Wrestling.
