It has been stated that the parties have reached an agreement on all issues and the appointment of the Italian specialist will be officially announced in the near future. It is noted that the president of the Italian Football Federation, Giovanni Malagò, has confirmed the choice at the federation council meeting.
Mancini’s appointment came to the agenda after negotiations with Andrea Pirlo were concluded. The commercial ties of the former AC Milan midfielder with one of Russia’s betting companies caused dissatisfaction within the federation. Because of this, the signing of a contract with him was halted at the final stage.
It should be noted that Roberto Mancini managed the Italian national team from 2018 to 2023. Under his leadership, the team became the winner of EURO 2020, held in 2021.
