The MIA has appealed to scooter and bicycle riders

In Baku’s Nasimi district, on Fuzuli Street, it was recorded that individuals riding scooters and bicycles were violating traffic rules by driving in the opposite direction within the bus lane and on the main carriageway.

Information about this was provided to “Elchi” by the Intelligent Transport Management Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

It was stated that this caused hazardous traffic conditions.

“Drivers should know that, according to Article 46-1 of the Law on Road Traffic, the movement of small electric vehicles is permitted in parks and courtyard areas, residential zones, bicycle paths, as well as on public roads, provided that they comply with road signs or road markings and travel along the rightmost lane of the road.

Furthermore, provided that the requirements mentioned in this article are met, it is prohibited to travel in lanes other than the rightmost lane on public roads, or to travel on the road adjacent to a bicycle path when a bicycle path is available.

When entering the road, it is necessary to respect the rights of all road users and follow the rules. Otherwise, the occurrence of a traffic accident and its severe consequences will be inevitable,” the statement noted.
