The death toll from torrential rains and floods in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab provinces has reached 37.
elchi reports that, according to Dawn newspaper, torrential rains affecting Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, and Gilgit-Baltistan since July 19 due to the monsoon season are causing flash floods and landslides. Authorities have announced that 20 people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 17 in Punjab have died in incidents related to the torrential rains, including flash floods, lightning strikes, and electrocution.
Thus, the death toll from torrential rains in the country has reached 37.
On the other hand, floods and landslides caused by the torrential rains have damaged crops in fields and residents’ homes in Gilgit-Baltistan and the Pakistan-administered Azad Jammu and Kashmir region.
