Video Assistant Referee (VAR) rules applied in the FIFA World Cup will also be used in the Azerbaijan Premier League.
“Elchi” reports that Elgiz Abbasov, technical-sports director of the Professional Football League, announced this in a statement to journalists:
“There will be innovations. The AFFA Referees Committee has also prepared a presentation regarding this. VAR can be consulted on controversial episodes during second yellow cards and corner kicks. We have also had discussions with the clubs regarding this.”
