Nearly 200,000 manats of damage caused to green spaces in Azerbaijan in the last week

During the control measures carried out over the last week, cases of illegal cutting of green spaces were discovered in the cities of Baku, Sumgayit, Ganja, and the Salyan district.

“Elchi” reports that the State Environmental Security Service has released information regarding this.

During the investigation, it was determined that illegal cutting of trees on Uzbekistan and Shirin Mirzayev streets in the Nizami district of Baku, at 75 Novruzov Brothers Street in the Nasimi district, on Matbuat Avenue in the Yasamal district, on Samad Vurgun and J. Jabbarli streets in Sumgayit, as well as at the intersection of Nizami Street and Polad Hashimov Street, in the 3rd microdistrict area of Ganja, and in the administrative territory of the Salyan district, caused 199,620 manats of damage to green spaces.

Since the amount of damage caused to green spaces in each case constitutes a criminal offense, the collected materials have been sent to law enforcement agencies for legal assessment.
