At the conclusion of the NATO Leaders’ Summit held in Ankara, the “Ankara Declaration” was adopted.
“Elchi” reports with reference to APA that in the Declaration, the allies reaffirmed their commitment to collective defense and transatlantic unity.
The document states that defense capabilities will be strengthened against the backdrop of the long-term threat posed by Russia to Euro-Atlantic security, and that new defense procurements worth more than 50 billion US dollars will be carried out.
NATO leaders emphasized that support for Ukraine will continue, declaring that 70 billion euros will be allocated for military equipment, aid, and training in 2026, and that at least the same level of support will be maintained in 2027.
The Declaration also emphasized that Iran must not possess nuclear weapons and called on Tehran to respect freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
