Russian ambassador summoned to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, Baku has issued a note to Moscow

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mikhail Yevdokimov, has been summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

This was reported to elchi by the Press Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

It was stated that during the meeting, a strong protest was expressed regarding the drone attack on a SOCAR gas station located in the Mykolaiv region of Ukraine on the evening of July 5, and a corresponding note was presented to the Russian side.

During the meeting, it was recalled that the aforementioned drone attack was not an isolated incident, and that prior to this, SOCAR-owned facilities in Ukraine, including a gas distribution compressor station and an oil depot in Odesa, had been subjected to military strikes and other destructive effects of military operations, resulting in significant material damage and injuries among the company’s employees.

It was noted that despite repeated warnings, the continuation of such incidents indicates that the attacks are being carried out intentionally.

During the meeting, attention was also drawn to several air strikes that damaged the buildings of our Embassy in Kyiv and the Honorary Consulate in Kharkiv, and the importance of strictly adhering to the obligations regarding the protection of diplomatic and consular mission buildings in accordance with the Vienna Conventions was emphasized.

The Russian side was called upon to conduct a thorough investigation into all the mentioned facts, to provide appropriate explanations regarding the incidents that occurred, and to comply with international obligations regarding the protection of civilian objects and diplomatic missions.
