The award ceremony for the winners of the 12th International “Young Rescuer” competition and the 13th Nationwide “Young Rescuer and Firefighter” championship, held with the organization of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the support of the ministries of Science and Education, Youth and Sports, and the Gabala District Executive Authority, took place in Gabala on July 4.

It was noted that the ceremony was attended by the Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel-General Kamaladdin Heydarov, Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov, Deputy Minister of Science and Education Firudin Gurbanov, Head of the Gabala District Executive Authority Sabuhi Abdullayev, children and family members of Patriotic War martyrs, and representatives of the public.
In this year’s competitions, alongside Azerbaijan, teams from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Belarus, and Russia participated as competitors, while Tajikistan participated as an observer.
The competitions were organized with the aim of increasing the level of preparedness of teenagers and youth for emergency situations, instilling a healthy lifestyle, a sense of responsibility for personal and public safety, and a spirit of national patriotism in schoolchildren, increasing interest in the rescuer profession, and forming friendly and cooperative relations among young rescuers from different countries.
In the official part, which began with the playing of the National Anthem, a video prepared by the MES about the competitions was first shown.
Then, an artistic performance presented by schoolchildren, celebrating national patriotism and friendship between countries, was watched, and trophies, diplomas, certificates of honor, and valuable gifts were presented to the winners, while other participants received certificates of honor and commemorative gifts.
It should be noted that the teams tested their strength in the “Obstacle Course,” “Combined Fire Relay,” “Search and Rescue Operation,” “Team Presentation,” and “Wall Newspaper” stages of the competitions.
In the international competition, which was held in an atmosphere of intense struggle, Azerbaijan took first place, Uzbekistan second, and the Belarus team third. In the nationwide championship, the team of Secondary School No. 6 named after N. Behdiyev in Ismayilli city took first place, the team of Secondary School No. 3 of Nehram settlement, Babek district, Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic took second place, and the team of Yukhari Zeykhur village secondary school of Gusar district took third place.
