MEDIA: 93.6 percent of respondents rated the President’s performance positively

The Media Development Agency conducted a public opinion poll in the first half of 2026 to study the attitude of the country’s citizens towards the activities of President Ilham Aliyev and to analyze the dynamics and trends in this area.

According to the information provided by the agency to elchi, the results of the survey showed that public support for President Ilham Aliyev’s political leadership and strategic activities is at a high level.

According to the results of the survey, the level of trust of respondents in President Ilham Aliyev is 87.7 percent in total. This indicator confirms that approximately 9 out of every 10 people in the country trust President Ilham Aliyev.

According to the results of the opinion poll, 93.6 percent of respondents rate the President’s performance positively.

One of the strongest indicators confirming the high level of trust and support is the electoral behavior of citizens. Thus, if the presidential election were held next Sunday, the vast majority of those surveyed – 91.5 percent – would vote for President Ilham Aliyev.

The analysis of the survey results shows that the high trust and confidence in the President is formed not only by the head of state’s reputation but also against the background of maintaining the country’s internal stability. In this sense, the President is considered a unifying figure in public opinion within the framework of national interests and is considered irreplaceable in terms of stability – 81.9 percent of respondents accept President Ilham Aliyev as an irreplaceable political leader. This approach is observed across all social-demographic groups participating in the survey, and an upward trend in this indicator has been recorded compared to previous periods.

It should be noted that the public opinion poll was conducted from May 20 to May 30, 2026, using the face-to-face interview method. 1,210 respondents aged 18 and over participated in the survey.

The distribution of respondents by gender, age groups, education level, and economic regions was determined proportionally to official statistical indicators, and representativeness for the population was ensured. The margin of error is +- 3 percent.
