Iran wants to reach an agreement with Oman on the management of the Strait of Hormuz

Iran intends to reach an agreement with Oman on the management of the Strait of Hormuz.

“Elchi” reports, citing ISNA, that this was stated by Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi.

“The issue of the Strait of Hormuz is important and fundamental for Iran,” he said.

According to K. Gharibabadi, the management of the Strait of Hormuz falls under the responsibility of the coastal countries:

“Iran and Oman are in agreement on the issue of collecting fees for services provided in the Strait of Hormuz.

No country, including France, will be allowed to interfere in the process of clearing mines from the Strait of Hormuz.”

It should be recalled that Omani Foreign Minister Badr Al-Busaidi expressed solidarity with Iran regarding the Strait of Hormuz.

French President Emmanuel Macron, after talks with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said of Oman, stated that Paris has decided to join operations to clear the Strait of Hormuz of mines.
