The European Union’s Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia, Magdalena Grono, has disclosed the issues discussed during her meetings in Baku.

“I am pleased to be back in Baku and to have had intensive consultations with my Azerbaijani partners, including Presidential Aide Hikmat Hajiyev and the President’s Representative-at-Large Elchin Amirbayov, as well as Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov.
Our discussions focused on regional processes, EU-Azerbaijan relations, transport and logistics opportunities, and the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace process, as well as issues ahead of the high-level contacts the European Union will hold in Azerbaijan and Armenia.
We agreed on the importance of maintaining the positive momentum created by the historic achievements on the path to lasting peace between the two countries. The European Union will continue its support in this direction,” Grono noted.
