Water police conducted an anti-drug operation on the seashore

Employees of the Police Department on Water Transport of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have conducted an operation against the illegal drug trade.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs’ press service informed “Elchi” about this.

The department received operational information that drug sales were being organized in the area known as Gum Island, Hovsan settlement, Surakhani district, which is part of their service territory. As a result of the measures taken, Vugar Tahirov, a previously convicted person suspected of committing the mentioned act, was detained. A large quantity of the narcotic substance marijuana was discovered on him.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing at the Police Department on Water Transport.

It should be noted that control measures are being continued by water police along the coast to prevent illegal activities in the Caspian Sea and other water basins within their service territory. The department’s employees also regularly fight against individuals who cut and organize the sale of iron pipelines and various types of cables laid along the bottom of the Caspian Sea.
