Azerbaijan will support the reconstruction of 10 schools and the restoration of another 100 in Syria.
elchi reports with reference to Report that Tarık Sulo Cevizci, a member of the Syrian Parliament from Aleppo, stated this at the II “Turkmen Heritage: Solidarity of Civil Societies” forum, organized by the “Körpü” Turkmen Heritage Research Center Public Union and partnered by the State Support Agency for NGOs.
According to him, Azerbaijan has stood by Syria in many areas:
“Azerbaijan was one of the first countries to establish contact with the new leadership in Syria after the beginning of the new era. By sending its diplomatic representatives to Syria, it demonstrated its readiness to develop cooperation and played an important role in rebuilding the relations between the two countries. Azerbaijan’s humanitarian aid has made a significant contribution to overcoming the disasters of the war. Azerbaijan has also stood by Syria in economic, cultural, and social fields. In particular, the support provided in the energy sector has contributed to the reconstruction of Syria and the improvement of essential services.”
The deputy stated that the visit of Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa to Azerbaijan was also of great importance in the relations between the two countries:
“The meetings held by the head of state during the visit are of great importance in terms of developing cooperation and strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries. At the same time, this was the first presidential visit to Azerbaijan after the new era in Syria. In this regard, the visit is of historical significance.”
