The Cuban government has reacted to the US administration’s decision to add companies linked to the GAESA holding company, which is controlled by the Cuban military and dominates the country’s economy, to its sanctions list.
“Elchi” reports that Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez, in a statement on the US-based social media platform X, called the new sanctions targeting the island’s government a “crime.”
Criticizing US Secretary of State Marco Rubio harshly, Rodriguez stated:
“The US government, led by a dishonest and lying Secretary of State, continues to tighten the blockade against our economy after the Cuban economy proved to be stronger, more capable, and more effective than expected in the face of brutal aggression and collective punishment against the people and their living conditions. What this person is inciting at the head of the world’s greatest power is a crime.”
