At the editorial office of the international magazine “Azerbaijanym”, our well-known compatriot, UFC fighter Rafael Fiziev, who gained world fame with his “Muay Thai” fighting style, was presented with the “Pride of Azerbaijan” order.
During the meeting, the editor-in-chief of the magazine, Emil Nasirli, an academician of the International Academy of Sciences, spoke about the publication’s areas of activity, information exchange with local and international organizations, and its achievements. E. Nasirli stated that by the decision of the magazine’s Editorial Board, UFC fighter Rafael Fiziev was deemed worthy of the “Pride of Azerbaijan” order established by the “Azerbaijanym” international magazine for his professional activities in the field of sports and his services to the development of sports, representing Azerbaijan with honor in the international arena, and presented the award to our well-known athlete compatriot.
The editor-in-chief noted that the “Azerbaijanym” international magazine, which stands out with its unique style in our country’s print media, has been meeting its readers for nearly 22 years with interesting and meaningful articles. The magazine’s team has worked worthily to convey Azerbaijan’s rightful voice to the global audience and has made great efforts in this direction. Then, the editor-in-chief specifically noted that Azerbaijan is currently recognized as one of the leading countries in the world in terms of the level of sports development. After Ilham Aliyev was elected president of the National Olympic Committee in 1997, the Olympic movement, physical education, and sports development in our country entered a new stage. Thanks to Azerbaijan’s active participation in the international Olympic movement, our country demonstrated that it possesses great sports potential. “Achievements in the field of sports are also considered one of the important criteria that determine the general level of development and economic potential of the state. Azerbaijan’s hosting of prestigious international sports competitions and large-scale events, as well as the successes achieved by our athletes in international competitions, demonstrate the effectiveness of the state policy formed by our country in this field. In general, the work carried out in the direction of sports development in our country is of a continuous nature. This factor gives every reason to say that important achievements will be reached in the coming period as well,” emphasized Emil Nasirli. Noting that our press has gone through a great path of progress, E. Nasirli emphasized that the steps taken in the direction of the development of mass media in our country have made important contributions to the development of the Azerbaijani media. Today, special state care and attention shown to the press, at the same time, the establishment of freedom of speech, thought, and self-expression at the highest level, the strengthening of the material-technical and financial base of the press, the creation of favorable conditions for the effective activity of media representatives, and other factors have conditioned the development of our national press.

Every achievement gained is the result of the strength and purposeful activity of the Azerbaijani people. It is an undeniable truth and a confirmed fact that the news of the victories of Azerbaijani athletes often comes from world and European championships, international tournaments, and Olympic Games, and Azerbaijan surpasses not only the former USSR republics but even most European states in terms of development in this field,” said Rafael Fiziev.

Later, as a guest of the “Azerbaijanym” international magazine’s editorial office in 2026, Rafael Fiziev wrote his first heartfelt words in the publication’s “Honorary Memory Book”.
