According to information shared by Lebanese sources, a new round of negotiations between Israel and Lebanon has begun at the US Department of State.
elchi reports that in the negotiations held against the backdrop of Israel’s intermittent attacks on Lebanon, it is expected that important issues regarding the progress of a ceasefire between the two countries will be discussed.
Although no detailed statement has been made yet about the participants, it is believed that the same individuals who participated in the previous negotiations will take part.
The US Department of State announced that the 5th round of direct Israel-Lebanon negotiations will be held in Washington from June 23-25.
The negotiations are taking place following the US-Iran memorandum of understanding signed by US President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, which came into effect on June 18. The agreement includes a provision committing both parties to respect Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
