The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has reported that two of the country’s citizens were injured as a result of an attack on a cargo ship in the Black Sea on June 22.
elchi’s Turkey bureau reports that the MFA stated the incident occurred off the coast of the Chornomorsk port in Ukraine.
It was noted that the condition of the Turkish citizens, who are crew members of the Turkish-owned, Panama-flagged ship attacked by an unmanned aerial vehicle, is being closely monitored by the Turkish Embassy in Kyiv and the Consulate General in Odesa:
“We are conveying our concerns regarding these attacks, which threaten our interests and regional security in the Black Sea, to the authorities of both countries. Ensuring the navigation safety of civilian vessels in the Black Sea is one of our country’s main priorities, and we call on all relevant parties to take measures to reduce tension in the region,” the statement noted.
