British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has announced his resignation from his post and as leader of the Labour Party.

He stated that he had met with the King and submitted his resignation.
According to reports, the growing pressure within the ruling party in recent months and the decline in the party’s ratings played a key role in Starmer’s decision.
It should be recalled that Starmer came to power about two years ago, winning the elections by a large margin and promising to restore political stability in the country. However, his ratings have fallen sharply in recent times. The Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, is being cited as the main candidate for the party leadership. Burnham won the by-election held last week, returned to the House of Commons, and thus joined the race for the leadership of the Labour Party.
According to observers, Burnham’s rise to leadership could result in the seventh change of Prime Minister in the UK in the last 10 years.
