The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has denied reports regarding the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
elchi reports, citing Iranian media, that this was stated by the official representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Esmail Baghaei.
He described the information published in a number of media outlets regarding the suspension of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz as baseless.
According to Baghaei, the Iranian Armed Forces, in accordance with the memorandum of understanding, have taken the necessary measures to ensure the safe passage of commercial vessels through the strait.
“Shipping along this route continues,” the Iranian Foreign Ministry representative emphasized.
It should be recalled that earlier, the German newspaper “Bild” reported that after Israel’s strikes on Lebanon, Iran had closed the Strait of Hormuz and suspended negotiations with the US.
