An important event titled “UAE Tolerance: A Deep-Rooted Heritage and a Sustainable Vision” was held at the Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL), co-organized by the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in our country and AUL.
elchi reports that the event, which took place in the Sheikh Zayed Arabic Language Auditorium, was opened with introductory remarks by the center’s director, Ulviyya Huseynova.
Welcoming the guests, she specifically noted the role of the structure she leads in developing cultural and humanitarian relations between the two countries.
Subsequently, Dr. Badriya Al-Shehhi, First Secretary of the UAE Embassy, stated that her country considers humanitarian activities a national responsibility. The diplomat emphasized that thanks to the directives of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE is among the leading donor countries in reducing global poverty and establishing peace. She pointed out that the Emirates have become a global capital of tolerance and that peace missions are spreading from the country on a global scale.
Jala Garibova, Vice-Rector for International Relations at AUL, expressed her satisfaction with the official partnership, stating that tolerance and multiculturalism are common fundamental principles for both Azerbaijan and the UAE. The Vice-Rector emphasized that such platforms are of great importance in shaping students’ worldviews.
At the end of the official part, Rashid Al Nuaimi, Advisor to the UAE Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, noted that the culture of tolerance and peace is a priority direction in state policy.
Within the framework of the event, extensive panel discussions were organized on the topic. During the panel, Badriya Al-Shehhi, First Secretary of the UAE Embassy, Professor Ibrahim Kazimbayli, Dean of the Faculty of International Relations and Area Studies at AUL, Ravan Hasanov, Executive Director of the Baku International Multiculturalism Centre, and Rashid Al Nuaimi, Advisor to the UAE Minister, spoke and shared their thoughts on the subject.
In the end, special certificates of appreciation were presented to those who actively participated in the organization and discussions of the event.
