US military forces have struck civilian water infrastructure in Iran’s Sirik region, destroying two reservoirs with a total capacity of 2,500 cubic meters.
“Elchi” reports that Esmail Baghaei, spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), wrote about this on his “X” social media account.
“These facilities provided drinking water to more than 20,000 residents across ten villages,” he noted.
According to the MFA official, this is a deliberate war crime and a gross violation of human rights, as well as international humanitarian law: “The US must be held accountable for carrying out such systematic attacks against civilian infrastructure that sustains life.”
It should be noted that the US Central Command (CENTCOM) launched strikes on Iran in response to the downing of an Apache helicopter.
