After the midterm elections to the US Congress, a third impeachment attempt against President Donald Trump will become practically inevitable.
“Elchi” reports, citing “The Hill” newspaper, that according to American analysts, the Republican Party will lose its fragile majority in the House of Representatives as a result of the elections, and control of the lower house will pass entirely to the Democrats. If this scenario occurs, Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries will assume the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives, considered the third most important post in the US state hierarchy.
The publication emphasizes that regardless of the scale of the advantage Democrats gain in the lower house, the only unavoidable event will be the initiation of the next impeachment procedure against Donald Trump. However, the fate of the process will depend on the balance of power in the Senate, the upper house of Congress, which is currently under Republican control. If the Republicans maintain their majority in the Senate, the impeachment will be merely formal, and this failed attempt will unite the party even more closely around Trump. Conversely, if the Senate also passes under Democratic control, it could freeze the entire legislative body’s activities and turn into a long-term and difficult legal process for Trump.
