Trump called on a number of countries to normalize relations with Israel

Axios: Trump called on Middle Eastern countries to normalize relations with Israel.
“Elchi” reports that on May 23, during a phone call with leaders of several Middle Eastern countries, Turkey, and Pakistan, US President Donald Trump urged them to join the Abraham Accords to normalize relations with Israel if Washington and Tehran reach a peace agreement. Axios reported this, citing two US officials.
The American leader stated that he hopes countries that have not joined the Abraham Accords or do not have a peace treaty with Israel will improve their relations with Tel Aviv once the conflict over Iran ends.
It is noted that the leaders of Qatar, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia, countries that do not have diplomatic relations with Israel, were surprised by the US President’s request. At that moment, silence fell over the conversation, and Trump jokingly asked if everyone was still on the line, one of the officials told the portal. The White House announced that the President’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, and businessman Jared Kushner will discuss the normalization of relations between Middle Eastern countries, Turkey, Pakistan, and Israel in the coming weeks.
Trump also discussed the crisis in the Middle East with Russian President Vladimir Putin. In the phone call, the Russian leader emphasized the “inevitable, extremely severe consequences” that could arise for the whole world if the US and Israel resort to “strong measures.”
On February 28, the US, together with Israel, launched a military operation against Iran. In response, Tehran launched missile and drone attacks on Israel, US bases, and oil infrastructure in the Middle East. Iran also closed the Strait of Hormuz, which accounts for about 30% of oil shipments by sea.
