elchi reports that Rubio spoke at a joint press conference following his meeting with Indian Minister of External Affairs Subrahmanyam Jaishankar in New Delhi.
Stating that new information regarding Iran and the Strait of Hormuz could be released by the end of the day, Rubio said that US President Donald Trump would be making statements.

The Secretary stated that over the past 48 hours, he and his partners in the Gulf region have made progress on a draft agreement aimed at the full opening of the Strait of Hormuz and the elimination of transit fees. Rubio noted that they have made “great progress” in bilateral relations with India and expressed his belief that they will reach a “mutually beneficial,” “sustainable,” and “long-term” trade agreement.
Rubio also emphasized that the US has been “in the midst of an immigration crisis” in recent years and that the immigration rules implemented in the country were not measures taken specifically for India.
