The State Border Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs have conducted a joint anti-drug operation.

It was stated that on May 23, as a result of complex operational-troop measures carried out by employees of the State Border Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the service area of the “Lankaran” border detachment of the State Border Service’s Border Troops Command, the smuggling of 38 kilograms and 130 grams of narcotic substances and 2,890 psychotropic Metadon M-40 pills from Iran to Azerbaijan was prevented.
Operational-investigative measures regarding the incident are ongoing.
