More than 53,000 people participated in WUF13

More than 53,000 people, including those participating online, have attended the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) held in Baku so far.

elchi reports that this was stated by Anar Guliyev, Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture and national coordinator for WUF13.

“The foundation for future cooperation has been laid at this forum. More than 400 speakers have spoken within the framework of the event. 60 of them were from Azerbaijan,” he noted.

The Chairman added that WUF13 has introduced a number of important innovations that will shape the future of the Forum and global cooperation:

“Another important stage of WUF13 was the reformatted ministerial meeting held under the chairmanship of Azerbaijan, where the implementation of the ‘New Urban Agenda’ was reviewed. Of the 111 participating countries, 80 were represented at the level of ministers and deputy ministers, and the rest were represented by ambassadors and high-ranking officials.”
