Syria will participate as a guest in the “Group of Seven” (G7) summit to be held in France next month, and the country will be represented by President Ahmad al-Sharaa. This was reported by three sources familiar with the situation. This will be Syria’s first participation in the group’s summit since the forum was established in 1975.
“Elchi” reports that this information was released by the “Reuters” agency.
According to one of the sources, the invitation for Al-Sharaa to attend the summit, which will be held in the city of Evian-les-Bains in southeastern France on June 15–17, was personally presented to Syrian Finance Minister Yisr Barni, who was participating in the group’s financial talks in Paris earlier this week.
