Media and Broadcasting Council urges citizens not to fall under the influence of artificially created information waves

“The approval of uniform dress codes for students and educators in Azerbaijan serves to ensure the principle of secular education, as well as a unified approach in the educational environment. Nevertheless, attempts are observed by some circles to deliberately politicize the essence of the issue, to shift it to a religious plane, and to turn it into a subject of artificial public tension”.

elchi reports that this was stated in the statement of the Media and Broadcasting Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The statement noted that activities carried out in a coordinated manner, especially on social media platforms, increase this concern.

“The mass dissemination of content of the same or similar nature through individual accounts, including negative comments and reactions, in short time intervals, and calls encouraging people to violate public order are noteworthy. The continuous intervention of a limited number of identical accounts in numerous posts and the intensification of activity in specific time intervals create serious grounds for the process to be coordinated, indicating a troll attack and information manipulation controlled from a single center from abroad. The main purpose of such interventions is to distort real public opinion, create an image of mass discontent through the artificial activity of individual accounts, divert attention from the essence of the issue, and turn the topic into a tool for certain political goals. The Media and Broadcasting Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan calls on citizens, media entities, and social media users to be vigilant against such situations, to consider the coordinated activity of suspicious accounts, not to disseminate manipulative content without verification, and not to fall under the influence of artificially created information waves,” the statement said.
