The United Kingdom summoned Iran’s ambassador to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), accusing Tehran of posing threats to the country’s security.
elchi reports, citing the UK government, that this was stated in a statement by Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband.
“As we have repeatedly told Iran, the UK will not tolerate threats on its territory. Today, I instructed the summoning of the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Kingdom to repeat this message in full,” the statement said.
He also noted that the country has imposed sanctions against Ruhollah Bazgand, head of counter-intelligence operations of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (SEPAH), and Shahram Ali Reza Tamerzadeh Jaki, whom the British side considers an intermediary of the Zindashti network involved in several assassination attempts against Iranian dissidents.
