Syrian President Ahmad al-Shara has signed a decree to review customs legislation, which provides for strengthening the ban on the import of Israeli goods into the country. The document replaces old norms and continues the economic boycott policy against Israel that was in effect during the Bashar al-Assad era.
“Elchi” reports that “i24NEWS” has provided information on this matter.
The source stated: “Al-Shara is trying to use this strong internal position to justify the signing of an agreement with Israel in the future.”
Decree No. 109 for 2026 is the new law of the Syrian Customs Service that replaces the previous legislation. Article 112 of the law prohibits the import of goods that violate boycott laws (for example, the boycott of Israel) or harm public order. This article also bans the entry of Israeli citizens into the country.
