The Ministry of Emergency Situations held an event in connection with the 103rd anniversary of the birth of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the architect and founder of the Azerbaijani state.
According to the information provided to elchi by the Ministry, the event was attended by the leadership of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, responsible officials of the Ministry, the teaching staff of the MES Academy, and cadets.
First, the monument to the National Leader Heydar Aliyev was visited.
The event began with the playing of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Then, the memory of the National Leader and the martyrs was commemorated with a minute of silence.
In his speech, Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations, Lieutenant-General Adil Abdullayev, spoke in detail about the exceptional services of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, the architect and founder of the modern independent Azerbaijani state, who holds a unique place in world political history, and his decisive role in the formation and strengthening of Azerbaijani statehood.
The Deputy Minister noted that at a time when the fate of Azerbaijani statehood was being decided at the end of the 20th century – in a situation where deep political crisis, chaos, and anarchy reigned in the country – the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, who returned to power at the insistent demand of the people, successfully fulfilled his mission of salvation, protected our country from civil war, disintegration, and the threat of losing independence, and thus, a fundamental turn was created in the socio-political, socio-economic, scientific-cultural life, and international relations of our republic.
A. Abdullayev recalled with a sense of pride that under the wise leadership of the President, Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Mr. Ilham Aliyev, based on the ideas of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, our country has conquered new heights over the past years, and the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Azerbaijani state have been fully restored. The new realities created by Azerbaijan in the region serve to further strengthen our state and ensure a more prosperous life for our people.
According to A. Abdullayev, who noted with satisfaction that thanks to the joint efforts of the First Vice-President of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva, as the closest associate of President Ilham Aliyev, the modern Azerbaijani state is experiencing the most powerful period in its history, the modern landscape of our country, its place and role in the world political system create great confidence in the future among our people.
In his speech, the Deputy Minister spoke about the consistent and purposeful steps taken by the National Leader in the field of civil defense and emergency response, which is one of the main directions of the independent Azerbaijan security system. He noted that the Ministry of Emergency Situations, established thanks to the far-sighted policy of Mr. President Ilham Aliyev, who successfully continues and develops the strategic course determined by the Great Leader, has formed into a professional state body capable of successfully fighting any emergency situation today, thanks to the attention and care of the head of state.
At the event, Head of the MES Academy Major-General Baba Salayev, Head of the Department of Humanities of the Academy, Doctor of Philosophy in History, Associate Professor, Honorary Professor of the Academy Fizuli Ibrahimzade, and 3rd-year cadet Ruslan Jabiyev spoke about the titanic activities of the Great Leader in the field of building a modern, democratic, legal, and secular state in Azerbaijan, the formation of civil society, the return to national-moral values, and the development of science, education, and culture. It was emphasized that thanks to the successful continuation of the progressive Heydar Aliyev political course by Mr. President Ilham Aliyev, independent Azerbaijan holds a worthy place among the world’s nations today.
After the screening of a film dedicated to the meaningful life and activities of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, the ceremony continued with an artistic part.
