103 kilograms of methamphetamine were brought from Armenia to Georgia.
According to “Elchi”, the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia has released information regarding this matter.
It was reported that drugs worth 30 million lari (approximately over 11 million US dollars) have been confiscated.
As a result of the investigation conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, it was determined that the accused, in collusion with unknown persons, attempted to transport the narcotic substance for transit purposes.
The investigation revealed that the individual sent a truck belonging to his company to Armenia and loaded the narcotic substance into a trailer under the guise of “caustic soda”. On April 28, the truck entered Georgia through the Sadakhlo border crossing point.
The detained person has been charged under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code of Georgia for the illegal acquisition, possession, and importation of a large quantity of narcotic drugs into the country. These offenses carry a penalty of up to 20 years of imprisonment or life imprisonment.
