The international tournament “Heydar Aliyev Cup-2026” for junior female boxers has concluded in Baku.
“Elchi” reports that the Azerbaijani national team won 17 medals in the competition, which featured participants from 8 countries.
In our U-17 team, coached by Ilkin Agayev, Aysel Farajova (46 kg), Aydan Ismayilli (48 kg), and Sema Abbasova (66 kg) became the winners of the tournament.
Yegana Rahimova (48 kg), Fatima Mammadli (50 kg), Jamila Muradli (57 kg), and Ramziya Mirzayeva (70 kg) won silver medals, while Nasrin Abdullazade, Aysan Miriyeva (both 46 kg), Nurgul Ojacova (48 kg), Tunca Murshudova, Sima Ismayilova (both 50 kg), Alsu Yafarova (52 kg), Narmin Abdullazade, Ayan Novruzlu (both 54 kg), Emiliya Beydullayeva (57 kg), and Aynur Valizade (63 kg) won bronze medals.
Thus, with 3 gold, 4 silver, and 10 bronze medals, the Azerbaijani national team took 1st place in the team standings in the girls’ boxing competition. Georgia took second place (3-1-1), and the team of neutral athletes (AIN, 1-2-1) took third place.
It should be noted that the boys’ competition, which includes teams from Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Latvia, Estonia, Moldova, and a team of neutral athletes, will conclude tomorrow.
