On May 4-5, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elnur Mammadov visited the Republic of Ecuador.
According to the information provided to elchi by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the first political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility of the Republic of Ecuador were held in the capital, Quito, during the visit.
The delegations were led by Deputy Minister Elnur Mammadov on behalf of Azerbaijan, and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility Alejandro Davalos on behalf of Ecuador.
During the consultations, the current state and development prospects of relations between the two countries in political, economic, humanitarian, energy, cultural, tourism, and other fields were discussed. The meetings expressed mutual support for establishing cooperation between the relevant agencies of the two countries to promote agriculture, business, and future investments.
In the end, the protocol of the first political consultations was signed, as well as the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Ecuador on the exemption of holders of diplomatic, official, and service passports from visa requirements.
Within the framework of the visit, Deputy Minister Elnur Mammadov gave a presentation on “Azerbaijan’s Foreign Policy” at the Diplomatic Academy of Ecuador. In addition, the head of the Azerbaijani delegation gave interviews to the Press Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility of Ecuador, as well as to the country’s leading online state newspaper “El Telegrafo”.
During the visit, a meeting was also held with Azerbaijani businessmen operating in Ecuador.
