Apple is preparing to introduce a new series of “smart home” products on October 13, 2026. This long-awaited strategic move aims to strengthen the company’s position in the “smart home” market.
elchi reports that among the notable new products is a “smart home” display, similar to an iPad, that can be mounted on a wall or placed on a desk.
This device will serve as a central control hub and will bring a completely revamped, AI-powered Siri into the home environment.
Thanks to its built-in cameras and microphones, the device will be able to instantly distinguish individuals approaching the room using voice and facial recognition technology.
While the system may not provide the same level of security as Face ID on the iPhone, it can protect personalized information without requiring additional authentication.
When a user approaches, the screen automatically displays calendar events, messages, and preferences specific to that person, while hiding this sensitive information when strangers are present.
Furthermore, different family members can request authentication via an additional device to access their personal information.
During the presentation, an updated HomePod Mini will also be showcased; this will be the first update since the device’s initial release in 2020.
The device, equipped with a new processor, will support Siri’s AI functionalities and will be released with new color options such as pink and green.
The next-generation Apple TV, which will retain its current design, will also be equipped with advanced AI models and processors. Although the devices were expected to be released sooner, it has been revealed that Apple has postponed the presentation to finalize the completely revamped and AI-powered Siri integration.
