The MIA has issued a call regarding the voluntary surrender of illegal weapons and ammunition

On April 29, as a result of operational measures carried out by police officers in the capital and various districts of the republic, 13 automatic weapons, 1 pistol, 2 grenades, 4 rifles, 9 magazines, and 418 cartridges of various calibers were discovered and seized.

This was reported to elchi by the Press Service of the MIA.

Citizens are reminded that the illegal possession and carrying of firearms and ammunition creates criminal liability under the legislation. Voluntary surrender of such items exempts one from personal liability.

“Citizens are advised to immediately inform police authorities about unused or illegally held weapons and ammunition. This is important both in terms of avoiding legal liability and contributing to the protection of public safety. Operational and preventive measures by police officers to detect and seize illegal weapons and ammunition are ongoing,” the MIA stated.
