Aslana Aliyeva presented the legacy of Roza Jalilova at an international festival

The III International “Lazgi” Dance Festival is being held in the city of Khiva, organized by TURKSOY, UNESCO, and the Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan.

 

More than 300 dancers, professional dance groups, choreographers, musicologists, art critics, and cultural figures from over 30 countries, including Azerbaijan, Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Brazil, and Japan, participated in the festival.
Azerbaijan was represented at this prestigious event by the Baku Choreography Academy.

The delegation included Nailya Mammad-zade, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Acting Rector of the Academy, Honored Artist; Tarana Muradova, Vice-Rector for International Relations, People’s Artist; and Yegana Tapdigova, Head of the Academic Department. During the festival, Tarana Muradova also served as a member of the jury.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the festival, Nailya Mammad-zade expressed her pleasure in participating in the event. She provided information about the projects implemented in the field of choreography in Azerbaijan, the achievements made, and future development prospects. In her speech, Tarana Muradova stated that the International “Lazgi” Dance Festival, organized in the city of Khiva, brings together representatives of dance art from various countries, serving to strengthen intercultural dialogue and preserve and pass on national dance traditions to future generations. T. Muradova noted that the festival is not only a dance competition but also an important cultural event that acts as a bridge of friendship and cooperation between peoples.

Within the framework of the festival, the III International Scientific-Practical Conference on “Dance Art in World Cultural Development: Traditions and Values” was also organized.

At the conference session, Aslana Aliyeva, a student of the Faculty of Arts at the Baku Choreography Academy, delivered a report titled “Roza Jalilova and the Dance Art of Azerbaijan.” Another student, Amina Aliyeva, successfully performed the “White Flower” and Uzbek dances.

The leadership teams speaking at the event were awarded diplomas by TURKSOY, and all participants were presented with certificates by the Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan.

In addition, the issue of preparing a special anthology covering the dance culture of Turkic-speaking states was discussed during the festival. This initiative was assessed as an important step in terms of preserving and passing on the common cultural heritage to future generations.
