A rapidly spreading forest fire in the US state of Georgia has turned 54 houses and 27,000 acres of land into ashes. Efforts to extinguish the flames are ongoing.
“Elchi” reports that forest fires have occurred in various parts of the US state of Georgia. So far, 27,000 acres of land across the state have been reduced to ashes.
The fire, which started on Highway 82 in Brantley County in the southeast of the state, has spread rapidly. So far, approximately 5,000 acres of land have been burned. 54 houses have been destroyed, and approximately 1,000 houses are facing the threat of fire.
In Clinch County, located approximately 105 kilometers from Brantley County, the Pineland Road fire has turned approximately 16,500 acres of land into ashes.
While 100 firefighters continue to battle the flames, some residents in nearby Clinch County and Echols County have been evacuated due to the fire threat. Georgia Governor Brian Kemp has declared a state of emergency in all 91 counties of the state. Efforts to extinguish the flames are ongoing.
