Azerbaijan to build about 10 new schools and overhaul about 100 in Syria

Azerbaijan will support the construction and repair of destroyed or damaged schools in the Syrian Arab Republic.

This was reported to “Elchi” from the Ministry of Science and Education.

It was reported that the “Agreement on Strategic Partnership between the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Education of the Syrian Arab Republic and the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization on the restoration of educational infrastructure in the Syrian Arab Republic” was signed with the participation of the Minister of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan Emin Amrullayev, the Minister of Education of the Syrian Arab Republic Dr. Mohammed Abdulrahman Turko and the Director General of ICESCO Dr. Salim bin Mohammed al-Malik at the headquarters of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) in Rabat.

According to the agreement, about 10 new school buildings will be built and about 100 damaged schools will be overhauled by the Republic of Azerbaijan in order to support the restoration of educational infrastructure in the Syrian Arab Republic.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, the Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev noted that the Republic of Azerbaijan attaches special importance to contributing to the expansion of educational opportunities and the development of educational infrastructure in the Islamic world within the framework of international cooperation. In this regard, the Minister emphasized the importance of the initiative aimed at restoring educational infrastructure in the Syrian Arab Republic with the support of the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The Minister stated that this initiative will serve to create a safe, modern and quality educational environment for children and young people in the Syrian Arab Republic.

ICESCO Director General Dr. Salim bin Mohammed al-Malik noted in his speech that the signed Agreement will make an important contribution to the restoration of educational infrastructure in Syria, and at the same time, will serve to further strengthen cooperation and solidarity between the countries of the Islamic world.
