Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi sent a written message to US President Donald Trump to postpone the attack on Iran.
Elchi.az reports that the Israeli newspaper “Israel Hayom” reported this.
An Israeli official, who asked not to be named, said that Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff delivered the message to the US president along with a written guarantee from Masoud Pezeshkian. According to the source, Araghchi’s message was received via WhatsApp.
According to the information, the Iranian president’s written guarantee was the main part of the message and was intended to create an atmosphere of trust between Tehran and Washington and open a diplomatic path. The Israeli official emphasized that although this action was not the only factor that postponed Trump’s decision, it influenced the US president’s approach and mood.
According to the source, when this message was sent, the necessary preparations for a large military operation had not been fully completed, and this issue, together with Tehran’s message, played a role in changing the timing of a possible attack decision.
