Armenia is unlikely to withdraw from the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
“Elchi” reports that Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan stated this.
“Such discussions, especially regarding commodity and gas prices, are not new and have been ongoing for many years. If a decision is made to increase gas prices for Armenia, official Yerevan will make its own decision. It will completely withdraw from both the CSTO, the EAEU, and other structures. However, I do not think this will happen, because I know that there was a very good, business-like, and effective conversation between the leaders of the two countries,” he said at a briefing while answering a question about the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Moscow.
“We have not done anything against Russia, we are not doing anything, and we do not plan to do anything. At the same time, we have protected and will protect Armenia’s interests,” he noted.
