In Mexico, unknown gunmen opened fire on people at a square after a football match in Salamanca, Guanajuato state.

City Mayor Cesar Prieto stated that the attackers arrived at the scene at the end of the match. As a result, 11 people died. Among the injured are a woman and a minor.
Prieto called the incident part of the “crime wave” in the country and asked President Claudia Sheinbaum for help in the fight against violence. The State Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation into the incident and is coordinating with federal agencies.
