The European Parliament will suspend ratification of a trade agreement with the US after Donald Trump threatened to impose tariffs on eight European countries that support Greenland’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Elchi.az reports that Euronews reported this.
As a result, the agreement will not enter into force, at least for now. This was stated by major European political groups. The agreement should have led to the abolition of tariffs on US industrial products. A vote on this was planned in the coming days.
In return, Washington agreed to impose a lower 15 percent duty on goods exported from Europe to the US than before.
