The White House has announced that the Donald Trump administration is considering various options to acquire Greenland, including “using the US military.”
Elchi.az reports that White House spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt commented on the Trump administration’s approach to Greenland.
In her response, Leavitt stated that “President Trump has made it clear that acquiring Greenland is a US national security priority and is essential to deterring our adversaries in the Arctic region. The President and his team are discussing various options to achieve this important foreign policy goal, and the use of the US military is always an option at the Commander-in-Chief’s disposal.”
Leavitt’s response came after President Donald Trump’s recent statement about wanting to acquire the island for strategic purposes.
In a statement the day before, Trump said they had to acquire Greenland for national security reasons and that it was a security priority, especially against Russia and China.
