Last year, 516 people were detained by the State Border Service for violating the state border, 1,226 for violating the border regime, 3,922 wanted people, 108 with fake documents, 8 with other people’s documents, and 6 people who tried to cross the state border secretly from checkpoints.
According to the information provided to Elchi.az from the press center of the SSB, this was stated at the reporting meeting of the State Border Service (SSB) on the results of service-combat activities in 2025.
It was noted that within the framework of anti-terrorism measures, 6 people who fought abroad were detained, 18 involved in illegal drug trafficking, 8 in smuggling, and 12 organized criminal groups in illegal migration were neutralized.
During the year, the structural units of the SSB, as well as other law enforcement agencies, prevented the illegal transfer of a total of 4 tons 311 kilograms 864 grams of drugs, 78,457 psychotropic and potent pills, and smuggled goods worth 128 million 255 thousand 862 manats across the state border, and 24 tons 585 kilograms of narcotic plants were destroyed.
