On October 20, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov received Frano Matušić, State Secretary for Political Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia.
According to information provided to elchi from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the meeting, the strategic partnership relations between the two countries and the development prospects of bilateral cooperation were discussed. The role of high-level mutual visits and the mechanism of regular political consultations in the development of bilateral relations was emphasized.
Touching upon economic and trade relations, the importance of increasing the trade turnover and mutual investments between our countries was noted. The significance of diversifying bilateral cooperation in the fields of traditional and alternative energy, digital development, tourism, and agriculture was highlighted.
Noting Azerbaijan’s strategic role, the importance of leveraging the opportunities offered by the Middle Corridor, as well as mutual support within international and regional platforms, was emphasized.
The exchange of experience and development of cooperation between ANAMA and specialized Croatian companies in the field of demining were highly appreciated. The Croatian side stated that demining in their country was completed in March of this year and that they would spare no effort in providing any support to Azerbaijan in this regard.
Croatian businessmen were invited to take advantage of the favorable business environment in our country, including the opportunities offered by the Alat Free Economic Zone and the Baku International Sea Port, and to actively participate in the projects being implemented for the restoration of our liberated territories.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed the other side about the post-conflict situation in the region and the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace process.
During the meeting, other regional security issues of mutual interest were also exchanged.
On the same day, the next round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Croatia was held. The delegation of the Republic of Azerbaijan was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Fariz Rzayev, and the Croatian delegation was led by State Secretary Frano Matušić of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of that country.
