Traffic Police Urge Drivers Due to Windy Weather

The Main State Traffic Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has issued an appeal to drivers regarding windy weather conditions.

According to information provided to elchi from the Department, the appeal states:

“Based on information from the National Hydrometeorology Service, strong winds are expected on October 19 in Baku and the Absheron peninsula, as well as in several regions of the republic.

The Main State Traffic Police Department, in connection with the sharp change in weather conditions, appeals to drivers, urging them to be careful on the roads and strictly adhere to safety rules.

Strong winds can significantly affect the movement of vehicles, especially in open areas, on bridges, overpasses, and highways. Sudden changes in wind direction can make vehicle control difficult, creating dangerous situations, particularly for large-sized vehicles and vehicles with trailers.

Therefore, we recommend that drivers choose their speed limit according to the current weather conditions, increase the following distance, and avoid sudden maneuvers and harsh braking. At the same time, it is important not to park vehicles near trees, billboards, electricity poles, and other structures that may pose a danger.

The Main State Traffic Police Department once again calls on all road users to consider the weather conditions and behave with maximum caution and responsibility on the roads.

Let’s not forget that the main condition for safety in adverse weather conditions is cautious and responsible behavior!”!
