“Iran’s “Sahar” (“Sahar Azeri”) TV channel presented footage from an event held in Turkey’s Diyarbakir province by linking it to Azerbaijan, portraying it as a demonstration organized in our country to support veiled individuals.“
elchi reports that this was stated in a statement released by the Media and Broadcasting Council.
It was noted that this presentation, distorting the location and essence of the event, is a blatant example of disinformation that involves gross falsification of facts, intentional manipulation of public opinion, and misleading the audience.
“The activities of this TV channel are characterized by the dissemination of biased, untrue information directed against Azerbaijan and the confusion of public opinion through provocative content. The channel’s systematic distortion of events related to our country, its regular inclusion of disinformation materials, and its approach aimed at forming a negative perception of Azerbaijan indicate that this activity is the main direction of its information policy. It is precisely because of such consistent and biased activity that the channel has been blacklisted.
The Media and Broadcasting Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan calls on media entities to ensure the accuracy and objectivity of facts in information dissemination, to refrain from presentations that manipulate public opinion and distort the essence of events, and calls on the public to approach such posts critically, to verify information based on reliable sources, and not to be a tool for the spread of disinformation.”
