EU imposes approximately 1600 new sanctions against Russia’s military-industrial complex

The European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaya Kallas, announced the adoption of approximately 1600 new sanctions targeting Russia’s military-industrial complex.
elchi reports that Kallas noted in a post on the social media platform “X” that a meeting of the EU foreign ministers was held in Luxembourg.
Stating that a decision was made at the meeting regarding the imposition of sanctions against Russia, Kallas said: “This is the most extensive expansion of our sanctions list since Russia started the war. Europe once again demonstrates that it acts in unity”.
Noting that more than half of the new sanctions are related to the ballistic missile production chain, Kallas announced that EU members have approved new measures targeting Russia’s military-industrial complex.
Kallas stated: “We are making it significantly more difficult, slower, and more expensive for Russia to produce the weapons it uses to kill Ukrainians”.
